topic Plotmaker and image size in Documentation

<T>We have recently run into a problem with Plotmaker resizing placed images (jpg or tif). I have a 66"x24" color elevation image that I need to place on titleblock at 150dpi minimum.

Plotmaker consistenly reduces the size of this 9902x3600 pixel image to 4050x1462 pixels. This is unacceptable behavior! Higher resolution images get scaled back to the same 4050x1462 size as well.

I seem to remember some earlier discussion about PM limiting image sizes, but I couldn't find it on my search. Does AC/PM 9 resolve this issue? Does anyone have a workaround for our situation with 8.1/3.1?

Can anyone help, or at least commiserate?

Thanks,
The max pixel size in ArchiCAD was 4096 or so pixels on the longer side; just checked in Pre-Release 9, it is 4048. Can anyone with the final (UK?) confirm?
The limit is 4096*32767 pixels. So one workaround is to rotate the picture (in photoshop, whatever) by 90 degrees so that your 9902x3600 becomes 3600x9902. You can place that, and arrange the rest accordingly - print on portrait instead of landscape and rotatate everything else to fit the picture.
The other workaround is to cut the picture in two in Photoshop.

There is yet another workaround that works if you don't need million colors (4 byte colors). With 1-byte (256) color depth you can place 16384 pixels wide; with 2-byte (65536 colors) you can have 8192 pixels wide images. The rule is that the (color depth)*(image width) should be less than 16KByte. The system requires some space too, therefore the theoretical 4096 could be 4050 or so in practice.

So, decrease color depth, if it is possible.
