Specifically here is the Beam Tool. I have Use Geometry Data and ID to specify the Beam. The preferred in Sections and framing plans is to have the Dimension setting unit as "feet &amp; fractional inches". With this setting the beam depths that are greater that 12 inches are documented as in the case below as 1'-4 1/2".
