In the Dimensions settings, check the Dimension Type. It sounds like it is not set to Linear Method. Same setting under Construction Method in the Info Box.
Dimension Chain ?

<T>I have just installed AC22 on a new computer. On my old computer, when dimensioning, if I select a wall (sets a point at each side of the wall), I then get to select another point or wall before placing the dimension location. On my new computer, I select the wall and the dimension is immediately placed where I clicked to select the wall. I cannot find any setting to change this behavior. Can someone point me in the right direction to fix this?</T>

There is a new button in the settings that immediately places just the wall thickness.
I am not in front of Archicad at the moment so I can’t paste an image.

It is in the geometry method settings an is called ‘single click thickness’.
Hopefully this link will show you the correct page in the manual.
