Further research into has shown that printing from the intel (as opposed to plotting our typical way) results in the smaller font size as above but the boxes at the carriage returns are gone.

<DIV class="actalk-migrated-content">So I just noticed an issue printing files from our new Intel machines. Arial appears and prints differently on G5s than on our new Intels. It seems to affect at the least arial and arial narrow who knows what else. Same file printed from Intel machine results in a slightly smaller (to the eye, the parameters still read the same) version of arial, smaller in height and it's more condensed. Additionally, whereever there is a carriage return you get a box that only appears when printing. I will attached pictures here, although you wont be able to see the boxes unless i scan a hard copy but they are there in the printout from the intel</DIV>
