Is there a way to get the Zone label to automatically show the over all dims of a room?

Does a Zone know it's dimensions? If so how can I have it show on a Label? If the dims of a room are 10'-6" x 12'-0" then show those dims. How? I have been using "Custom Text" and manually editing as I change the room sizes.

You have a couple of options:
1)Total Zone by Master Script will do this, although you will have to adjust hotspots. If you are in the U.S. and on the ArchiPlus subscription, the Zone Tag USA will do it, although you still have to adjust hotspots.
2) An object like https://4dproof.com/product/room-size/ I believe that I've seen a similar one somewhere else, as well.

Thanks for that. I down loaded the Zone Tag. It is an IFC file. How do I use it or install it? Or how do I get the zone tool to use it?

No, it's not an IFC file. It is an LFC file. (Library container file.) Just put the file in a library where AC can find it.

1) Reload libraries.
2) Go to Options>Zone Categories and pick Zone Tag USA 21. This will now be operative for all placed zones.
3) Place a zone.
4) Make sure that "Room Dimensions" are turned on, and that the Display of Room Dimensions is included in the Model View Options.
5) When you select the zone, you will get hot spots that let you choose where you want the room dimensions to be measured from. (top & bot., as well as left to right)

I was able to load the object and create a new zone category, but I have very little control over how it looks and behaves. Maybe I am missing something. The pink zones are copies. the Left zone stamp has all features turned "off" while the the Right zone stamp has all the features turned "on". Neither will show room dimensions. Both show a bunch of stuff I don't want to see pre-set in a fixed format. At this point I do not see how this would ever be useful to anyone.

The other image shows what looks like very useful options for this stamp from the Library Manager, but I have no idea how to make it work like those images.

Any tips?

If I had to guess, I'd predict that you haven't gone to the Model View Options and turned on/off those features that you want to see. The options in the Zone Tag itself only fine tune those in the MVO panel.

The advantage to MVO is that you can have different options for different TYPES of plans. Related to the Zone Tag, for example, you might want certain options turned on for a preliminary design (e.g. name and room size only), but for construction documents you want many more options. You can set this up so that each type of plan displays only the information you want.
