<T>In AC22 the drawing frames were a nice clear dashed line. In AC23 they have changed it so it is a very faint dotted line.

I turn drawing frames on and off to align my drawings on the Layout but with this new drawing frame line type it is quite hard to do it efficiently

Is there a way you can change the line type of the drawing frame?</T>

I hadn't really noticed as I am not really using 23 yet.
But you are correct and I do not know any way to change it.

Actually I just realised what is causing it.
There is a new option to "Crop to Drawing Frame".
When it is on the frame is dotted, when it is off the frame is dashed as it was before.

So it is a visual queue as to what has been set without having to look at the settings.

Hi all,

Wow, that's a good finding Barry! I didn't even realize that this feature exists before, although I actively use it! In fact, this feature is mentioned in one of our Help Center article:
<S></S><LINK_TEXT text="https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user- ... Drawing_to">https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/89128/#XREF_79363_Set_Drawing_to</LINK_TEXT><E></E>
with only one small sentence to indicate: <S></S>The Drawing Frame of a cropped Drawing is shown with a dotted line.
<E></E>
So yes, this is a feature to distinguish the cropped and uncropped drawing.

Big thanks to Barry for finding out about this!

I wish you all a great day!

Best regards,
Hi Ling,

In theory, it should increase the speed, as the drawing will not keep the whole plan but just a portion of it. I've seen large project files where this does make a huge difference!

But (this is just for me), I sometime feel annoyed that I have to press the button Update to Frame every time I make my drawing's frame slightly bigger, so in the end I just leave it uncropped. Maybe my plan was not big enough, or the updating speed was relatively fast with uncropped drawings on ARCHICAD 23!

Best regards,
