Yes, I set it to "By Elements" in the Plotmaker book. I even tried all the other settings as well. To my dismay, no luck.

I've tried several combinations using the display options...and I still can't get it to work. What's wrong....I'd appreciate any suggestions and/or inputs. Thanks. I'm particularly using a wall with 1/2" ply on both sides with 1" stucco on one of the sides...the vectorial hatching in-between the 2 plys that is suppose to represent 2x6 framing appears in the archicad file but never does appear in the plotmaker file. I've tried updating and everything and made sure that my view sets are turning out the way I want them to. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Check your Display Options in Plotmaker. They may be set to all fills off.

coming in from an oblique angle: is the fill pen set to white or anything silly like that in PM?

also: have you tried what i call 'resetting' the view? changing all of its attribute update rules to overwrite with archiCAD's settings?
You know Tom...I was almost starting to convince myself that it was the facial tattooes. Well after 2 weeks of doing a whole bunch of different things to try to get my vectorial hatching to show in plotmaker...I've finally discovered the real problem. It was a bug within the specific hatch, named "2x6 wd. frame....etc." cant remember the exact name.. but there it was. I changed the composite fill and used a cut stone fill for the the core representing 2x6 wd. frame. After doing this in ArchiCAD....I updated the plotmaker and my hatch was finally showing. And just to make sure it was a bug in the 2x6 wd. frame hatch...I went to attribute settings for composites and opened the 2x6 wd. frame hatch, to no surprise, all the radio buttons are not seen, such as the ones for changing scale and angle and all that stuff. Conclusion...."BUG". And I've already downloaded and installed the latest bugfix. I think I may have to re-install to fix the problem, something most likely got screwed up within the program at a certain period when I was hooking up a bunch of add-ons and started using a template that the office bought a few months back. But at least I know what was the problem and did not convince myself that it was the facial tattooes or the double-sided light saber. Thanks people for all the help.

By the way, any news on a new release of archicad? I keep dreaming about ArchiCAD 10.
I'd also like to thank the Team at Graphisoft for making version 9 once again. I just love the whole program!
