RCPs - 3D document or 2D plan view

Hi,

It seems that there are two ways to do an RCP. One via the 3D document. One via a standard 2D plan view by having it display like an RCP with model view options, layer combos, etc. There seems to be pros and cons to both methods.

Any thoughts on the best way to do RCPs in ARCHICAD?

Sometimes I use both, placing one on top of the other in the layout.

Interesting. In what situation would one method be more useful than the other? I'm just starting out doing an RCP and have had mixed advice as to which one to use.

The floor plan route with MVOs is symbolic projection in which grids will look better and since doors and windows are not projections you don't need to fight with the cutting plane that much.
The 3D Document version is a projection so symbolic control is limited.

It all depends on the project, but normally everything being equal I use the 3D Doc during Schematic and Design Dev and then switch to Floor Plan MVO during CDs.
