Just wondering if anyone has found a solution for plan view corruption when complex profile beams follow a step in plan that is smaller than the beam width?

Short screen capture is attached showing the issue

Hi thanks for the suggestion Mahmoud.

If I understand correctly you are suggesting using the pet pallet offset tool to achieve steps from an already placed beam?

However when I try it, no improvement - see attached

You don’t have to do all these nodes, only one and then move the other part of beam to above.

Is your layer intersection number set to zero by any chance?

I see what you are getting when that is the case.

But when it is not zero, the beams intersect fine for me.

Hi - in my case the intersection priority for that layer in the layer combo is 205.

I tried changing it to a couple of other non zero numbers, but no change.

(Changing it to zero makes things even weirder)

I notice this issue is quite sensitive to the offset distance - if offset is 20mm more then the problem goes away

Hi, the extra nodes you are seeing are just fill handles that happen to lie on top of the beam edge (there is a cover fill assigned to the beam).

The only actual nodes are the ones you can see me adding in the screen capture

I just discovered it is not if the step is smaller than the beam width.

It is if the step is smaller than half of the beam width.

Or more specifically it is half the distance from the reference line to the edge of the beam.

Moving the reference line anchor position or the beam offset will give you different results.

The problem is, it also moves your beams.

I get best results when the reference line is in the centre.

Barry.
