Hi guys, I have a problem. When the composite walls intersect, the mortar layer is not closed. I think I set the material right. but why the mortar is not cover the concrete wall end.

The concrete (760) is stronger than the mortar (300) so it will cut the mortar away.

In this particular case you will need to duplicate the mortar and have an internal mortar (300) and an external mortar (761+).

Yes it will.

Try this - not sure if it will work.

Leave the mortar at 300.

Set the concrete and the brick to the same strength (say 600).

I know if you have a brick wall joining a brick wall or concrete joining concrete, it will work as they are the same strengths, but also the same building material.

I am not sure if different building materials with the same strength will do the same.

In my humble opinion Wall End tool is much easier to use once than to create the same strength of building materials. Because then there may be problems with the intersection and set the junction order every time.

But that is only my opinion.

How do you place a wall end on a corner wall?

Do you have to break the corner connection (i.e. reduce length of wall), then place the wall end, adjust wall end to sizes you want and then re-trim the corner?

I can get it to work that way, but that seems a lot of work to do at each corner.

With the correct building materials set up in your job (and ideally template), it is all automatic as you place the walls.

@Barry Kelly Yes, there is a need to break the corner connection. It is possible to insert the Wall End tool as you wrote.

There is another way, I extend the wall beyond the plaster to the outer edge of the wall and then just click on the end of the wall and Wall End is placed correct.

Of course, your way has advantages because it only has walls.

But if we are talking about template, I cannot adjust the template to a specific case like this and give the same strength for brick and concrete for single problem, because for another user of the template it will be incomprehensible and not needed, in our projects concrete usually has a stronger priority.

I guess it also depends on the type of construction and how much detail you want to show.

Generally I have walls with 2 skins and a cavity - the cavity is always the strongest and will block anything from passing through it.

So I don't need to worry about inside and outside materials.

I also don't have the finishes (plaster, mortar) in my composites.

It is not needed at the scale I document plans - you wouldn't see them at small scale.

For visual purposes, I will apply the correct surface material to the wall to make it look like plaster, render, paint, brick, etc.

And also the finishes are not needed for dimensioning to locate the walls.

I am only interested in the core structure of the walls to locate them.

Finishes are added once the walls are in place (in real life) and so don't need to be dimensioned or seen in small scale plans - at least that is the way I work.

Barry.
