topic 3D document disappears in Documentation

<T>I created a 3d document in a previous iteration of a model. When I saved the model asa new version for backup purposes i inadvertently deleted the 3D document. I have used the "Place External Content" command and the document shows up on the requires layout but I cannot find it in the Navigator and eventually it disappears. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.</T>
