<T>I HAVE CUT A SECTION THROUGH A BUILDING AT 1:1 THE HATCH IN SCTION IS FINE AND BUT ONCE SCALED ON LAYOUT AT 1:500 THE HATCH IS JUST A SOLID BLOCK.

HOW DO I SCALE THE FILL/HATCH ALONG WITH THE SECTION?

THANK YOU</T>

Go to OPTIONS menu > Element Attributes > Fill Types...

Here you can set your fill to be "Scale independent" ( which sound like what you have now) or "Scale with plan" which basically fixes the hatch so it appears with the same spacing relative to your model (which is what you want).

You might want to duplicate the fill though (or create a new one) and make one independent and one scale so you have a choice.
Otherwise eveywhere you have used that fill will be affected if you change it.
You should see a difference.
The "Scale with plan" will always appear to be the same hatch on screen regardless of the scale.

The "Scale independent" will always change with the scale but the hatch spacing will always be at the spacing you set - for example will always measure 100mm if that is what you set it to.
Ideal for timber planking or bricks or tiles if you want to represent their size accurately.
It will give the impression of getting bigger or smaller as you change scale but it is actually staying relative to your model.
Have you set the spacing in the Fill settings dialogue to the size you want to see it?
Use real world sizes i.e 100mm for a 100mm plank (or 4" if imperial).
If you are using composite walls then you need to set the fill in the composite settings dialogue.
Otherwise you can just choose any vectorial fill (i.e. the one you just made) if you want just a simple single leaf wall.
What Barry is showing is the cut fill of the wall in 2D (plan) view. If you want the fill (hatch) to appear on the surface of the wall then the fill needs to be one of the attributes assigned to the material of the wall surface. In the Help files see User Interface Reference > Dialog Boxes > Material Settings Dialog Box > Material Vectorial Hatching Panel.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
