Lines and text not appearing on master layout

I am not able to place text or other 2-D elements on the master layout. The text block will show up, but way off the page. I can not get it to be on the page. The same happens when I try to draw lines. I also tried creating a new master layout and the same problem persists.

I am using Archicad 23 on a Mac

I'm guessing that you have Grid Snap turned on. Go to the View menu and uncheck Grid Snap and see if that helps?
