There is a bug (I don't know if it was fixed in the latest hotfix). Go to Grids & Backgrounds and in the lower left corner change Rotation Angle to 0.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

<T>Hello,

since the update to AC15 i'm having problems with dimensioning in AC15.
When i pick points to measure i can't make it parallel [see attached screenshot]

I'm using standard ArchiCAD settings - please give me a hint how to deal with it.
Is it possible that dimensioning in AC15 changed somehow?

My drawing isn't rotated, it's aligned strictly to XY

Before clicking your final dimension line placement, just click on an element or line that you want to align (parallel to) to lock the orientation.

I find that when I open an AutoCAD .dwg with ArchiCAD or even import a .dwg xref into ArchiCAD I can not add horizontal dimensions with out resetting the Rotated Grid. Nothing changes visibly but the problem goes away when I Set Rotated Grid.

To do this I do click on the Set Rotated Grid button on the Coordinates palette. Left click on the drawing space, move the cursor horizontal holding down the shift key, left click again. This should rest the Rotated Grid and you should be able to add horizontal dimensions again.

Why this happens when I open an AutoCAD .dwg I don't know.
