Thanks Karl,
I'd done that; actually it wasn't necessary as the new pdf printer from 9 works in 8.1, didn't check 7
are there other known bugs that give 9 settings to 8.1?
thanks

PM9 messes up PM3.1

<T>Since installing 9, I have noticed several settings in plotmaker 3.1 and AC8.1 no longer working and/or missing.

1. Amyuni driver. After installing 9, I could no longer see amyuni driver listed. ( I believe someone else posted something similar). Not a problem if you have adobe installed, but for people who don't it is easily rectified by reinstalling the amyuni drivers.

2. PM Disaster. I just published plts by "publish this set" method and lo and behold each layout is now divided up into 2-4 sheets. Opening the plot settings it is tiling! Of course I find this out from the printer. This is a project that has been plotted many times in the last year and a half. This was the first time I plotted from it since installing AC9. Opening up PM9 I had the same results.

Near as I can figure it has to do with using the "extended margins" layout settings in PM3.1. It looks like in 9 this option is not necessary as you can set your margins and these will overrule plotter specific margins.

Why is AC9 affecting 8.1?

As this is a project where some of the team members will not be upgrading to AC9 in the foreseeable future I will need to keep it working in PM3.1.To resolve this problem I am having to redo the settings for each layout in PM3.1.

Has anyone else experienced these?

In PM3.1 I used the extended margins setting. Sin</T>

These AC9 features in 8 aren't all bad, just curious that they are here and I came accrues another example.

When looking at a folder of AC8.1 pln's, I noticed that the backups now have that red arrow.

There is a bug (AFAIK) in the 9.0 installer: it uninstalls any existing Amyuni driver, and displays a message that it is installing the Amyuni driver ... but fails to do so. Go into Graphisoft\ArchiCAD 9\PDF Converter\Install and run the Install program there. Of course, you have to then set up your defaults for Amyuni again, too.
Not that I know of. But, installing 9 probably changed the custom margins, etc of the installed driver back to defaults.
