Dimensions Change without changing preferences

I'm using AC 11 and have noticed a odd behavior. I'll go back to a project I haven't worked in a while and the dimensions have changed from feet and inches to inches (i.e. 12' is now displayed as 144"). All I have to do is change the preferences but on one job I ran a complete set of plans before I saw the change.(Al Gore nor myself likes to waste paper).

Has any one else noticed this? Does anyone know what would cause it?

You might not be having saved views, or be using a Project map instead of the View map? The dim settings are saved with the views.

Also: are your dimensions given a defined name (under Project Preferences > Dimensions), or are they set to "custom" under the View settings?

I have been using the Project Map instead of the View Map. I will see if that makes a difference.
