Hi all,

In addition to what @mthd suggested, there's an option to include the traced reference in the printed PDF.

1) If you're using (File - Save as PDF) here's the option.

2) If you're using (Publisher from navigator palette) here's the option.

I'd like generate a pdf file from Archicad, with all the layers that I see in the 2d view window, including the grayed out image of my other layer(s), which I can turn on or off with View -> Trace. Having this "on" is great, as it gives a reviewer useful visual information about how levels relate to each other:

But when I try to print this to a pdf, only the storey that has the focus is printed, all the visual support information gets omitted:

I've searched high and low for an answer, to no avail. I'm using AC27, educational edition, on an Intel based iMac.

Please assist.

You can try and send both top and bottom views to a layout page ? Then overlay one over the other and try publishing a pdf from there. Of course you can also adjust the pen colors to show one of them partially greyed out. Adjust your drawings to suit the overlay display you are looking for by trying to bring one view to the front and see if that works ?

Thank you mthd and Mahmoud both. I'm a student, so the first method, - combining layers on a layout - is a little over my head yet. I still have to learn how all that jazz in "publishing" works. One of these days ....

The second suggestion is perfect for me at my level. If I may make an observation to the AC people, I must have looked at this option, I probably looked at it several times, but how is a person supposed to connect words like "Trace" and "Reference" in his mind? I'd bet the average mortal would benefit from having consistent terminology. One word or phrase for one thing.

Thank you all. Great bunch of guys.

I was going to suggest the same procedure as @mthd . But not only students can miss that checkbox! Thanks @Mahmoud Qenawi
