Have you tried adjusting the display order (EDIT menu > Display Order)?

Send the sofa backwards or bring the stairs forward.

I have a sofa under my staircase, however, despite how much I change the objects cut or uncut fill it still displays it as a solid above the stairs in plan view.

If anyone can help me please I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I'll give it a shot, I didn't realise that you could change the display order of objects.

Looks like you've got some reference manual reading to do. 😀

https://help.graphisoft.com/AC/27/INT/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&rhmapid=#t=_AC27_Help%2F030_Interaction%2F030_Interaction-102.htm&rhsearch=display%20order&rhhlterm=display%20order&rhsyns=%20

All elements have a default display order.

As stairs and the sofa are both objects, they will have the same default display order, but the one you place last will show on top.
