    <description>&lt;P&gt;Unfortunately the snap guides don't work while placing a dimension.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Yo need to establish the points first.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can draw a line, but the dimension will associate to that line - delete the line and the dimension deletes.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Make the dimension static or ...&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Place an orange guide line segment.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Then dimension that guide line and you can erase the guide line and the dimension will remain.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Just be aware the dimension is not associated to the lines.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Perpendicular Dimensioning</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;trying to figure out how to dimension perpendicular to an element. i then decided to draft a temporary line and dimension the line but can't get it to recognize the line correctly. thought i could just select the line and it would dimension correctly, but can't seem to figure that out either.&lt;/P&gt;
