You will probably find most Archicad users do not custom design their furniture to any great level of detail.

Most will use the standard objects from the library or 3rd party objects.

But objects don't really help if you are trying to get quantities or shop drawings of the furniture.

You don't have to use the morph tool.

You can use the main tools, walls, slabs, roofs, beams and columns.

There will still be some automatic connections happening, but that is what Archicad is designed to do.

So in your case I would model the furniture in a layer with an intersection number of zero.

I created furniture using the Shape tool, but when I view it in section, all the pieces appear merge

I am looking for more information on how to create fully customized furniture for my interior design projects. What are the best tools to use for this in Archicad, and how should I document them in an organized way using BIM methodologies? I also want to know how to produce workshop or fabrication drawings. This is my first attempt at designing a kitchen, and I find the Shape tool to be very versatile, allowing me to keep everything organized. However, when I combine two pieces of the same furniture with the same material, I can’t seem to get them to appear separately in section views. I also can’t seem to get the plan view to project as I want it. Do you have any advice on how to handle this? I’m still a beginner and have a lot to learn. Any comments would be very helpful. Thank you very much!

Operating system used: Windows 11

Archicad does not produce complex shape by default, so

the way complex shapes use to be made was by stacking elements together, which would merge in cut section, as per your example.

3 ways to get elements that touch to not join in section:

1 different building material

(I duplicated the building material but didn't give it a good name, you could have a Top Panel Material, Bottom panel Material, door even Material, door odd Material)

2 on a different layer with an intersection group number different form each other, but that is complicated for visibility options

3 on a layer with an intersection group number 0, but then you can't have other things merge.

The third one was the solution to my problems. Now I can create some furniture. I wanted to ask you about the process you're following to design and organize the furniture in your projects.

Is there any other solution to model them in Morph?

And just remember to change the classification of all of the pieces to Furniture or eq, and probably the ID too if not deleting it.
