I see. I have always used Attributes toolbar to change penset and have not noticed the difference between layout space and drawing space.

I must have edited a penset while in layout space. Now that I know that I will be careful about when/ how I edit pensets in the future.

Makes total sense. Thanks much.

<T>Is there a way to fix the penset for the masters?
I am finding if I am not very careful what penset I am using when I publish to my plotter that the current penset in use is what dictates the penset for the masters when plotting

If not I will have to use a few pens for the masters that never change thru-out my pensets so there is no chance for a snafu when plotting.</T>

I don't seem to have a problem with this since I am not changing my pen set in the layout book. Placed drawings can very their pen sets. Do you have a need to very the pen set within the layout book?

Pensets aren't linked to Masters, but they can (and should be) be assigned to drawings. Also the current 'working' penset in the layouting environment is different than the penset in the modeling environment. See this thread for more information.

The key for predictable plotting is be be in the correct penset when you publish. You should have a dedicated publishing penset and make it active while in the layouting environment. This is done via Options > Element Attributes > Pens & Colors (Layout Book)... and is different than the modeling environment and only really needs to be set once. To check, go back to, say, a floor plan and it will now appear as Options > Element Attributes > Pens & Colors (Model Views)...

Cheers,
