topic Custom Label with Autotext - Frame that wraps content? in Documentation

I want to have our firm's template switch over to Zone Labels in lieu of Zone Stamps, so that we may populate and move them around to different locations per view, in lieu of having to find the perfect spot for a Stamp that doesn't interfere with drawing content on 5+ views.

The screenshot below shows what I'm trying to do:

Two zones modeled. Our current standard Zone Stamp is in the bottom left corner of each zone, in gray.

Moving up, my two text boxes are shown in each zone, using autotext, as the basis for my custom label.

After saving the two text boxes ("Save Selection As... Label"), I then placed the newly made label associated to my two zones.

It appears that the frame around "#Zone Number" is staying a constant width; not narrowing or widening to fit the room number (I don't plan on having a room number that long, but this is for illustration purposes).

Note: toggle of the "Wrap Text" option in each text box didn't change anything.

Is this something I'll need to get into GDL to do?

If you have drawn the frame (lines) and the autotext, then select and save as label, the box will be a fixed width.

In this case, yes, you would have to edit in GDL.

The label has its own frame in the label settings, but that will be around the entire label.

I have not tried this but give it a go.

Add a frame to the auto text (in the text settings), so the frame is part of the text.

Now save that as your label.

Not sure if it will work.

As it was tested, I had the frame turned on in the text settings (not a polyline drawn manually around a text box).
