You can't.
GOs affect the entire element/object - it can't change just one material in it.

The same goes for composite walls - override one building material or surface and the entire wall is overridden.

Barry.

That's too bad! Thank you for the clarification.

Hi,

I'm trying to apply a graphic override on a 3D document I have which is supposed to make all the glass opaque and a certain color.

The problem I run in to is when I use the following rules:
Element Type is All Types
Surface contains Glass - Clear Fast

and then apply my graphic override that the override also affects the window frames, which I obviously don't want to change (and especially not into the same look as the glass).

Does anybody know how to do this override without affecting the frame?

Best,
Vincent

That would be the easy way to solve it but unfortunately that would also affect my 3D views with the Basic Engine, and I need those to work too (and be transparent).

If ArchiCAD really wants to be truly BIM; surfaces and materials in things such as windows and Composites cant all just blur together, thats not how these things are supposed to work.

ie - Windows should treat glass and frame different from one another, how else would you be able to pull out accurate schedule info for the amount of glazing that is required or correctly showing graphic overrides.

Can we get the basics right please Graphisoft? we dont want half hearted Bim.

Perhaps if everyone else thinks the same way add your vote to one of the existing wishes about this:
