This is Horrible - this should work out of the box. The size is correct but the lack of the closure on the corners of the cloud is childish and bad.

I could do a circle but that is only good for some items

If these are changes to your document, you might as well use the Change tool—it closes out the corners perfectly and is way smarter than the polyline tool. The Change tool not only closes the corners correctly, but you also get the benefit of having the Delta attached to it. Plus, you can use the Revision History object to automatically track changes instead of doing it manually.

Even if you don’t want to use the smart features of the Change tool, you can still use the marker instead of the polyline, as symbolic lines in Archicad always distort at corners because they’re not dynamic; they’re just static line segments so they can't turn corners. This happens with all “symbol” lines. So yeah, I don’t disagree that symbol lines need work, but the Change tool is an easy fix that will look much better.

I get why people used the polyline cloud before the Change tool existed, but sticking with that workaround when a smart feature is available just feels unnecessary. I’ve heard people argue they don’t use the automated functionalities of the change tool because they’re “too hard to use,” but honestly, once I took the time to understand the tool and started using it, I saw no reason to go back to the polyline cloud workaround. Why introduce the possibility of human error by manually noting the change details on all the layouts and have to draw the change cloud and deltas separately, when you can streamline it considerably with one tool whilst simultaneously getting the change details on layouts automatically?

There are also red lining cloud objects if you don't want to use the change tool.

Why create one product that never works as it should and others, makes no sense

I believe you should fix your line style as this probably demonstrates that other lifestyles share the same bad issues.

Why put out a product that has flaws that are correctly with excuses.

ArchiCAD can be better than that.

Yeah, there are a bunch of things like linetypes included in the default template which do not really work...

It the line does not work why is it even available. Very poor solution and lack of follow thru. I wonder if programmers have ever created a project?

use the polyline tool, it looks like you've drawn 4 individual lines. this will close off all but the last intersection.

Ah, they all sort of work with the Polyline tool. Good to know, though the fact that the Rectangular option does not actually close is a typical GS thing...
