Lock View in layout

Hey

I have a question:

I´m wondering if there is any way of locking the view in the layout book? Like if I change the story settings lets say 5000 m up or down, the view in the layout is still locked on the building?

I am not quite sure I understand.

The views are locked to the storeys.

What do you mean by adjusting the stories by 5000m (typo? that is a lot or is it just an example)?

How are you changing the storey height?

Yes, 5000 was an example.

My question is if theres a way to lock the view in the layouts, so that if you move your building up or down, or sideways, the view is still the same in the layouts. 🙂

Don't move the model up or down.

There is no need - it will be the same model - the views will look the same.

You should be adjusting the storey levels if you really need to, then all views relating to those storeys will remain related to those storeys.

Or adjust the project origin height in relation to sea level (or other datum) if you need that accuracy with height dimensions.

Moving the model sideways, just ensure you move all of the sections and elevations as well.

If you have a file with many buildings, they should be hotlinked in.

The height and/or position of the hotlink can be changed.

If you have all of the plan and elevation views for that building in the original hotlink file, they will not be affected.

Any overall elevation views in the master file will need to be adjusted to make sure the vertical and horizontal range is sufficient.

Ah. The issue here is the top and bottom extents of elevation and section views which are defined by distance from pZero, or a chosen storey... Always felt that that setting should be in reference to storey... (eg. +500 from Storey C, -500 from Storey A.) In this case, changing the reference to the base storey instead of pZero should work?

Can you show a before and after image?

And I am assuming that is an image of you layout judging by the scale bar.

Is this how you are adjusting your storey heights?

If not, how are you doing it.

It can be referenced to the ground or any other storey by browsing.
