Is this When Publishing/Printing from PM9 only? I opened up a few PDF created from PM3.1 and did not see the "bookmarking".
Hyperlink

In ADT I can Hyperlink (Ctrl-K) any thing in my drawing to any file or web site. I use this for things like the Key Plan. When I click on a certain area of the Key Plan it will open the drawing for that area of the building...you get the idea and can see the potential I 'm sure.

Now that you can copy and paste Linked Objects (OLE) into PlotMaker, is there going to be a way to do something like Hyperlinking in ArchiCAD?

What I really want is to get my .pdf's into PlatMaker and Hyperlink them there. The new Acrobat 6.0 Pro can handle layers now. If ArchiCAD and PlotMaker could import .pdf's and handle Hyperlinking, it could generate a devistating blow to the competition.

Are there other methods in ArchiCAD to do something similar to what I described above?

When you publish/print to PDF from PM, all section and detail markers become hyperlinks (well, bookmarks) to the appropriate part of the PDF document. That's as close as it gets at the moment AFAIK.
Hey Jay,

Nope - works in PM 3.1 too. It was introduced in 8.0 or 8.1, can't recall which. (The section markers have to be set up to use PM autotext for numbering so that PM fills in the numbers and "knows" that the markers are linked to the sections/details.)

In Acrobat, the hand should turn into a finger over the section/detail marker.

??
Thanks for the reply.

I am not getting this option. I tried to do a "screen Shot" showing that the "hand" remained a "hand" when hovering over a section marker. But the hand does not "Copy" in a print Screen.

And Yes the section markers have PM autotext.

Weird.

This feature is Windows only by the way: from the 8.1 help file:

"Hyperlinks in PDF Documents (WIN only)
When you save a PlotMaker file in a Windows-based PDF format using the built-in PDF Amyuni printer driver, the detail/section markers, as well as Layout names, will appear as hyperlinks. Clicking on the marker will switch you to the detail's respective layout."

I just made a quick test, using the Section Marker_NCS (in case that is part of the issue), and generated a PDF of a plan and section view, attached. You can click on the section marker and jump to the section page.
Thanks, Mike. I had seen that too, and tested with it checked and unchecked, and it had no effect on linking the markers. (I couldn't remember if it had to be checked or not.)

With it checked, though, it will recognize text strings that look like hyperlinks and convert them.
Still working in AC8.1 & PM3.1 on Existing Projects.

After installing AC9, I had to Reinstall Amyuni PDF driver, as per Karl's help.

I have one lbk that has the Hyperlink working, but another file (both created in AC8.1 and printed in PM3.1) that does not work. Both have the use on PM Autotext in Sections/Details.

It works only if you 'print' to PDF converter or publish with printing to PDF converter. In ArchiCAD 9, when you publish with option 'save as PDF', the function does not work.
This feature is still alive, well, and duel platform in 2012 (looks like it was added to Macs some years ago).
It came up in a post I wrote for the BIM Engine Blog...
