Hello, I changed the 'show on all stories' for garden perimeter (slab) to custom and made sure to show the lines on all upper floors. But then, the lines on the upper floors were dashed. I found the graphic override nae and looked for it and changed it to sold, but then all the section lines I had on the drawing changed also to solid. Seems they are listed as the same graphics override name. how can I manipulate certain lines to look solid and others not in upper floors like the roof plan for example, or site plan without affecting other lines. I am worried to change lines I can't see yet, so I did not venture into experimenting with graphic overrides rule changes. Is there another way? as settings didn't have an option. the order of attachments is second floor, first and ground floor, then lastly roof floor.

One item to check is Project Preferences > Legacy which has a setting for line types for Slabs, Meshes and Objects above and below their Home Story.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

its the year 2025 CE and we still have to worry about these things. But yes, one thing we do is that for upper levels and roof plans we use a combination of the upper levels with a 3d view seen from top stitched together as needed on layouts; this is because in 3d view, the software can actually project everything and "see all floors". Then we apply some Graphic override or pen set to make lower levels dimmer. its a hasle, but once its set up and the project doesnt change that much (otherwise You have to adjus the layouts manually) it works well.

Archicad should homogenieze the graphic proyection of all elements for all levels, and also operate on a "per level basis" with international graphical conventions, so we can model more happilly without having to worry about these things too much.

David meant to add your machine specs and operating system and Archicad version to your signature as well as this can affect the replies your problems and saves you having to type this info in each post of for people to ask you this info.

Hold your mouse over David's or my signature and it will expand to show that info.
