Hi, I am unable to change renovation status on objects. It affects custom made Patch objects, and when replacing the patch in dialogue window, for instance as seen on the picture, it is still grayed out. Can't seem to figure out the problem.

Click ok in that dialogue. Go to the storey/ floor plan window and in the Renovation Palette, change the renovation status there to whichever you want and then place the object. It’ll be on whichever renovation status you have selected.

Great! I seem to be able to change the renovation status of my Patch objects from the renovation palette indeed. However these objects do not show up on Demolition plan, I see the nodes, but not the element itself. I am wondering maybe patch is not as effective tool as I was hoping it to be. It would be almost the same process to make the 2d element into library object but I was hoping to keep my 2D elements separately.

The patch seems to remember the renovation status of the original elements.

Maybe that is why the patch itself does not have an editable renovation status.

So, say your elements are 'New' and you create the patch.

Then you place that patch as 'Existing' or 'To Be Dempolished'.

Now when your filter is set to show 'New' and hide 'Existing' or 'To Be Dempolished', you will see the original elements and the patch.

You would expect the patch to hide.

Change filter to hide 'New' and show 'Existing' or 'To Be Dempolished', they will all hide.

You would expect the patch to show.

Although the patch is 'Existing' or 'To Be Dempolished' and you would expect it to show, the patch is created from 'New' elements that will be hiding.

Does that make sense?

I did not fully follow but I did find Patch quite nice low maintanence element. It seemed so nice and simple when working on for example 2D surveyours maps. So the question is should I just remake the patch library to regular objects(sigh)? Patch library consists of custom playground equipment for example - I will not have those elements as 3D objects, I am lucky to get 2D drawings.

Are you using the patch so you have some basic parameter control (i.e. scale visibility) or you want to edit the 2D symbol view?

I just discovered that if you open the patch object and edit the 2D symbol, you can set the renovation status (via the renovation palette) for all of the lines and text in the symbol.

If not then you could just save the selection as an object and place the new object where you can easily change the renovation filter.
