Automatic width and height measurements on floorplan

Hey guys,

New user here.

I want to set up a zone that displays the x and y dimensions (rather than just the area).

Has anyone done this and can help me out?

Hi @Chris Appleby

Search for a 2D object named Room Name and Size Label 19; it is from bimcomponents.com.

Draw a rectangle, and the object will give you both dimensions and optionally the name of the room. It's a manual process, but you can still use it over the default Archicad zone stamp independently. It's not a big deal, but it might work for you.

The Zone Marker from the 3rd party 4D Library has a bounding box which you can adjust to list the length and width of a room. Unsure if @Ben Cohen has made a Zone Label that does the same thing. The issue with this is that rooms and in-turn Zones are not always rectangular...

It took me a while to get back to this.

That is great, is there a way that I can make the box visible?

It like to be able to control the fill colour and just use this for early stage room size planning, but also for presentation.

I really appreciate your help here, what an amazing community!

the 4D Library is a complete library for purchase... it's bloody awesome however, well worth it for our office.

I've emailed, so we will see how we go.

All I want is to have a zone that displays the x and y axis measurements so I can move rooms around quickly in plan view and use this for presentation to clients in very early concept stage design.

Surely someone else has wanted this as well and created something.
