We usually add additional levels in sections apart from the storeys (for ceilings, windows, doors, structure) and I wonder what the best way to do this is:

Option 1: draw manually the levels and put the level dimension. But this means lot of manual work and easy mistakes.

Option 2: model extra storeys for each level. But this might create lot of other problems and complications, specially when I have a 12 storey building.

Option 3: adding reference levels. But they are annoying to organize, specially in reference to the storeys, so if I change the first storey level then I need to change all extra reference levels for all floors manually, which can also lead to mistakes.

There was a plugin for this, but I can't find it now.

Is there any option that I am missing? What do you guys do?

You might want to give this a try :

https://www.indigofigs.com/story-marker/

The demo version lets you test all of the features on a template file.

After setting up the additional levels for one section/elevation, you can transfer the parameters from the set section/elevation settings (by using the syringe on floor plan) to others without having to recreate all the levels. Or you can save the section/elevation settings as favorites and apply to other sections/elevations.
