Total number of sheets in Layout editable?

We have a cover sheet that we include in our set that contains mainly just rendering views. I don't want this sheet included in the total count of sheets in the set. this doesn't seem possible in Layouts. am I missing something or is this really not possible? If not, it woud be nice to get something simple like this to be rectified.

Chris,

Just select the layout you don't want included and select the settings and check the "Do not include this layout in ID sequence" See attached. I think this is what you are looking for.

I was thinking that too, Gerald, but on further contemplation decided Chris wants the Number of Layouts (eg for "Sheet X of Y") autotext to not consider the cover as part of "Y".

And we all know that can't be done.

Not within the same file anyway.

Thanks guys, that's what I was after, the "Sheet x of y". I understand how to turn it off as a layout. My need is simpler than the others given, but this seems like an easy enough fix. I hope it's on GS list.
