Hi all,

Anyone know how Symbolic Cut and the Floor Plan Cut Plane will interact with this?

When working with sloped sites, you are forced to draw your walls as Home Storey Only: Symbolic Cut as stitching a million Views with different a FPCP for each change in floor level is often not viable, more so when it comes to site planning. And goodluck if you need to export to dwg. The backwards libpack changes to MVO have also made this more problematic...

Hi Ling, can you please show us a drawing of what it looks like right now and what it should look like to you ? Most of us Architects and Architectural Drafters only think in drawings lol. That way the technical staff may get the point of your request and be able to implement it for us all. Cheers !

In a situation like the above, if you do not set your walls to Home Storey: Symbolic Cut, the walls would not show up. Will the addition of Show on Stories for walls make it so that you can assign Symbolic Cut to multiple stories? Or make them act similar to Slabs in that they would not interact with the FPCP?

If it did either, the lack of being able to turn off the 3D of an opening would be less of an issue...

Would it solve the problems if the windows and doors had their own layers if that was possible of course ?

I figured out how to add my own "Off" 3D Detail Level MVO to the top level GS Window, though unfortunately I have been unable to figure out how to exclude or re-add the Wall Closure so I am stuck with a join line from my own closure object...

The join line doesn’t have its own layer that can be turned off or on ?

It is the juction between the GS 3D finish of the lower storey window and my own 3D finish of my upper storey one. Have not figured out how to still include the GS one without going beyond the top level object. Though I do not think this would remove this line either, as I think it would treat the juction between the two walls the same, as the wall below is invisible to the window above. Might be able to code in a specific toggle into my own 3D finish to be able to exclude edges, much like the GS ganging toggles, but that would probably have other ripple effects in this situation. Unless it plays nicely with GS gangings?
