topic opening archived .lay files with PM9 in Documentation

<T>I have recently had occasion to try and open a few old layout files done with PM3.1 (and earlier, even) from a year or two ago. We have always been careful to break the links to bind the pmk's into the drawing.

However, I have been disappointed to find that even though drawing usage shows the pmk's as embedded, they still show up as blank boxes as if the file cannot be loaded. <see attached pdf screenshot>

Sometimes I can open the pmk and view the extents of the drawing behind the viewport, but other times I can't. Nothing I do seems to bring the orphaned pmk back onto the layout.

Anybody know what's going on?

Thanks
Wes</T>

If you can open the PMK, do so, save it to disk, and relink. It should work.
