<T>Is it possible to show a door/window's dimension marker on elevation the same way it is shown in plan?

At the same time, is it possible to show section markers in the elevation view (so that building section markers are visible in elevation views)?

Thanks!</T>

Currently, No (Both questions). These need to be on the Wish List, if they are not already.

Although... In AC8.1 they added the ability to "Label" elements in the Section/Elevation window. You could try using "Labels" rather than "Markers" as a work-around. We used to use "Labels" for Door/Window indicators before they introduced the customizable "Markers" in AC8.*.

labels do work w/ windows in plan & elevation. open up label tool select window tool, choose label: i have been told to use (ac8.0) wndw dr marker 2, set settings shape, size... set display options to not show dr/wndw dimn tick, select window in elev click on label , do the same in plan.
it is pretty cumbersome, but it will work. labels must be manipulated quite a bit.
no one has really explained why markers will not show in elevations now.
we deserve better!

Yes it does work and not really that cumbersome..

You'll have to create a label that looks like the door marker (window marker) or simply open it up and save as a label.

Then set up AUTO LABELING to chose this marker for doors (windows). Also, choose USE LABEL ARROW to have NO leader or arrowhead (I am presuming we want just an ID).

In an ASSOCIATED ELEVATION (not drawing)... select all doors and choose the LABEL ELEMENT check box in the info palette.

Watch out if you like to bust elevations to drawings... depending on the GDL of the label, the ID's might break.

Note that you can uncheck the USE LABEL ARROW to add the regular leader and arrow in tight labeling situations.
