I'm having a problem using the interactive training guide. When I open the ACSE-ITG-Chapter-01.pla file I receive the error "Educational version cannot read START edition files. (13.003)".

In the pdf file it says that I can use the educational version of archicad to do these tutorials so is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Yes, you can.
The EDU version can read the files created in the Full version.

The Start Edition is different from the Full version.
It has less functionality than the Full version.

The EDU version is practically the same as the Full version but can only be used by students and teachers.
You should download the ITG that comes with the full version, from:

Thanks for your quick response. I've looked through the link and there aren't any archicad 14 tutorials apart from collaboration techniques. Would the Experience BIM and ArchiCad Essentials tutorials for version 12 and 13 still be relevant for the current release?

Yes, they are relevant, they are just not updated to include functionality of the newest version.
But I will be very helpful for you to do these two if you are a beginner.

Also you can do a keyword search like 'slabs + archicad' on you tube if you need more info. Ken Good exceeds his surname with his videos.
