Backup should still be there:

Standard work flow after a crash is close all open instances and relaunch AC. You will see the file in the start up page.

Instead of reopening AC switch to the open one and select "New File" and click "Launch a New Instance" AC should give you the option to open the crashed version.

Archicad crash - loss of data

Having an issue here. Here's how it goes...

1) I have two (or more) instances of Archicad open.

2) One of them freezes, so I force it to quit.

3) Archicad asks if I want to send a report. I do.

4) Archicad asks if I want to reopen. I do.

5) Instead of reopening a new instance of Archicad and recovering the file from backup, it just jumps me over to the already open instance of Archicad and the crash/reopen process ends.....

The backup file is functionally useless at this point, right? The only way to access it is during a "reopen", I've read.

Anyone else?
