You can.
Make a copy of the application BG ArchiCAD and rename it something else like BAD ArchiCAD. You can open as many individually named replications of BG ArchiCAD to view multiple files simultaneously.

Keep BG ArchiCAD for use only by Plotmaker.

hello, I would like to be able to open several pln files at once. I do not seem to be able to do it on my mac yet my pc compadres do it with ease. I have achieved it by copying the program and launching the program multiple times, but this eats memory. Can I open multiple plns under one program?

No

so there. ( )

but i've never really had too much of an issue with multiple versions of archiCAD 'eating' the memory. when the other versions are idle, OSX handles their memory/processor allocation and drops them right down close to zero. what are you getting? (fire up your multiple versions and then open the 'terminal' application. type "top" and hit return . . .)

i'd be interested to know. (it would also be handy to know your computer/archiCAD specifications as well. put them in your signature file?)

cheers!
There is a GUI front-end for this called 'Activity Monitor' in the 'Applications/Utilities' folder. I think most users are a bit wary of the command-line interface in Terminal.

yeah - and you end up looking like a right geek in front of your colleagues if you use the terminal
go with ralph's suggestion!
as you can with the main archiCAD application. however:
. . . but unfortunately, no you can't open multiple PLNs under one program. (see above!)
