This is how it used to work (until version 6?). I don't know why they changed it but it was nice. Perhaps it was too easy to crack.

The demo mode was save and print disabled but had the undocumented, but intentional, feature that it would save renderings and flythroughs from the demo mode. Of course back then it would take days to render a passable flythrough and it would have been too onerous to have to buy a another copy just for that.

There have been variations over the years, but I think that the tutorial runs with the demo version of ArchiCAD. Your dealer should know.

Can't you buy a student version for that employee? If it's for learning purposes?
Otherwise, use the demo version.

(Maybe it would be better if ArchiCAD would boot in demo when it didn't find a key)

AFAIR there is a CD with the demo version and the tutorials in the book?
