New ArchiCAD Video Tip

Hi Everyone -

Many of you know me, but for those who don't, I'd like to introduce myself. I was an ArchiCAD reseller for over 20 years, and have created more than 20 ArchiCAD Tips and Tricks articles and videos that appear in AECbytes, Cadalyst, ArchiCAD-Talk and the ArchiCADWiki. I am also the creator of MasterTemplate, an add-on for ArchiCAD that provides a robust and customizable office standard template that embeds Best Practices into the project structure.

As part of my new focus on ArchiCAD consulting and training, I'm preparing a new series of free video tips. The first one is 5 minutes long:
How to Set Window and Door ID's Quickly
<S></S>http://www.actemplate.com/video-tips/set-ids/

It will help you with a tedious part of the documentation process - setting up your window and door ID's sequentially so that they coordinate nicely with your window and door schedules. I show several techniques for making this process go faster. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

There are several other free video tips on the MasterTemplate website, including a 23 minute presentation on creating rafter tails, and a 90 minute training on how to trace 2D drawings (e.g. from an as-built DWG set) to create a 3D model.

I'm working on a 30-45 minute presentation on "The 7 Keys to Best Practices." These general principles will help you get the most out of ArchiCAD. I'll let you know when it's ready.

Eric Bobrow
Bobrow Consulting Group
Los Angeles and San Rafael CA
