As one of many users active in the Wishlist (now approaching 1000 wishes/bug fixes with only 15 delivered), I hope that the development of these easter eggs (fun as they may be) won't detract from Graphisoft's commitment to improving the software's functionality for its users. We love the program and want to help you improve it. There was a comment here from another user to this affect (perhaps less diplomatic) that got scrubbed.

Easter eggs are fun when programed just for that, fun. Trying to use them as a marketing stun is, I think, not a very smart move.

Publicity has tried to be more "fun" in the last times, but Archicad is a professional software that is not going through its best moment regarding development of its users needs, and is getting pricier every year. Not the best time to be telling jokes around here.

I find these posts are out of place, but maybe it´s just me, because I´m somewhat angry at Graphisoft for the way they are handling the software - only advances in the roadmap right now are the AI ones, for example...

And deleting posts is not very nice, even if they are somewhat rude.

This easter egg activity is intended as a light, fun initiative mainly for students and newcomers, and it is not taking resources away from ongoing development work or from addressing items on the Wishlist and bug fixes. We understand that many of you are focused on core improvements and professional workflows, and we will make sure your feedback here is passed on to the relevant teams.

Regarding moderation: posts and comments are only edited or removed when they do not align with the Graphisoft Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, which apply equally to everyone. If something of yours was removed and you would like clarification, you are always welcome to reach out so we can review it together.

I think 'Tone-deaf' is the expression you're looking for, and you're absolutely right.

Between this and the whole 'ArchiPet' deal or whatever the heck that whole thing is about, you get the sense of a company that's not currently in tune at all with the general sentiment of their users and customers.

My own personal view is that there are more direct, obvious (and frankly speaking, .....very easy) ways to improve customer sentiment and interaction than through methods like this - if indeed it is Graphisoft's aim to do so, through these kinds of PR moves - which only seem to serve to annoy more people than their intended purpose.

If they don't care, then it doesn't really matter either way.

At least, they're having fun.

OK let’s try a third time (even though my initial suggestion was truly constructive, and this will be conveying only part of the much larger and more intense truth out there), since the message obviously did not get across: in my deeply considered opinion this Linkedin post is an irritating disaster that shows a total disconnect from the user’s concerns and perspective. “Are you on a deadline? Look at these toys we have in the software that is giving you headaches with the suddenly missing Model View Options and unusable MEP!”.

This is about Graphisoft communicating a disconnect.

PS: does anybody in GS really think a student or newcomer or for that matter anybody cares about Easter Eggs?

Here’s a crazy idea: Try making the software actually work instead of wasting time on pointless features nobody asked for, and nobody cares about. Version 29 is a joke and feels like a direct insult to paying customers.

Guys FYI: This is a member of the Community Team posting about Easter Eggs in Archicad (it is Easter weekend). All these Easter Eggs were created by Archicad developers in the past. No new Easter Eggs were put into Archicad in the last 4 or 5 releases at least.

Wow!, what a poor choice of words in that LinkedIn post indeed. One can just stare in amazement.

But since we are all having fun as we approach to those deadlines, why not extend the challenge to see how many bugs we can find in the next 5 hours? (See what I did there?? Bugs, Easter eggs?? Bunny? Nevermind)

Bonus points if you post how much work you lost in the process.

I don’t know how to put this. It doesn’t matter anymore how hard your marketing team tries to make Archicad seem like a good or interesting product. You’ve lost your most important asset: us. No hidden Easter eggs, new colors, or challenges will help.

The idea of Easter eggs in software comes from a time when software developers created things with the user in mind. I don’t know how to put this into words. But movies like TRON and Ready Player One might give you an idea of what I mean.

Archicad comes from that era when software development was still an art, but it has since lost its soul. You have destroyed what Archicad once meant to us users. And you believe that such actions will revive Archicad.

So, go ahead with your little marketing gimmicks. At least they won’t make the product any worse. But they remind us of what we’ve lost—and that we, your most loyal customers and most important advocates, are now just customers.

least favorite easter egg: the rev marker sheep (please get rid of this, so annoying!)
favorite easter egg: the shouting bull horn teamwork request, really gets the point across... gotta get rid of the kissy one though, thats gonna get someone an HR call!
