There are many users who are working to get Archicad to implement myriad improvements to the software based on user feedback. The primary place for this is the Wishlist. I have proposed a revision to the Wishlist to help fast-track these improvement ideas and get the software back to glory.

I was sooo looking forward to coming back to Archicad after soo many years as it was my first cad software i EVER learnt in highschool so the feeling of nostalgia was strong indeed, but my experience was anything but that...

Archicad is the 4th CAD software I had to learn when I went into my new office. And after a couple of months drafting it's very clear that Archicad is by far the worst CAD software in this new age of subscription based design.

Underneath the slick and refined UI Design you find that it still runs on almost a decade old logic systems, render engine and lack luster tool sets. Every time I jumped to a new CAD software I found new tools that changed and assisted my level of drafting. Where with Archicad I had too come up with what I call " work arounds " literally something as simple as changing an opacity of an image is not even simple ( technically it's impossible because the software is so outdated it doesn't even support Alpha channel for pixels).

Other than its reputation of being one of the pioneering CAD softwares, Archicad is the most lazy and outdated CAD system you pay a subscription for and I wouldn't be surprised if they deleted this because they would rather keep to their old outdated traditional methodologies then take in feedback from their loyal customers who have been wanting meaningful changes for YEARS

I even brought this up at one of there youtube video hoping they would do something but instead graphisoft chose to shadow ban my comment. This shows that they are more worried about sticking to their old traditions and impose censorship rather then listening to their loyal customers who have supported them for so long.

Its a shame Nemetschek still funds Archicad. I am hoping my company movies to a better cad software which i shall not name but we all know it.

Hmm very good question - For 3D Revit and sketch up where just so effortless and easy to slide into

For 2D - Vectorworks is insane as to how many variables are packed into every single tool and how easily a 2D plan flips into a 3D model. After using Archicad i have even more respect for vector works

Revit, effortless and easy to slide into... I found it unituitive, but I have only spent a few hours by myself in it and maybe with longer, or some instruction, I would have gotten where it's logic is coming from...

AC is a perfectly capable platform for 2D work - where 2D work needs doing.

when Bennisch used Archicad (back in the 20th century) they did most of their work as 2D linework. That was strange.

I don't need a dedicated 2d platform, just appreciate that I don't feel like I need two platforms. AC is plenty responsive for this.

No CAD/BIM software is perfect but unfortunately all the best ones are now subscription based and I don’t like that about the current market trend. The good thing about that is that it can foster greater competition between platforms and hopefully leading to making greater improvements.

Pay us your subscription fees ! Could force us to learn alternatives but realistically who has the time to take on a new learning curve late in their career ? If you do then fine but I certainly do not have the funds to take on the Autodesk alternatives. I am happy to stick to my last perpetual version and to keep on using that for the time being.

Oh yes I am keeping a close eye on the development of Archicad & the other major alternatives like you probably all are too ?

Maybe there might be a hybrid CAD/BIM software combining the best elements of all the other major players one day in the future world ?

AI/CAD/BIM ???
