ArchiCAD to Vectorworks

Can anyone suggest the best way to exchange files Vectorworks?
We are translating layouts with cropped views via DWG. The files seem to be very convoluted when they open them in Vectorworks....strange layers that they can't modify etc.

Maybe you should try IFC, both applications have good IFC support so that may be a better choice than DWG.
I am not sure how well 2D would go through (there are settings in the IFC Translator Dialog to control that), but 3D should go through fine.
