Archicad and Illustrator

I have seen a few posts on the topic already but I couldn't find a suitable answer (yet).

I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to export the drawings (and possibly the layers associated AND divided) for editing in Illustrator. I have tried them all: PDF, DWG, DXF but none of them export the drawing in an accurate way and working with the exported file is always a (major) pain. I have tried using different colours according to the layers but there's always some problems when imported in .ai (objects can't be separated, paths are inaccessible, lines are clustered, etc, etc etc...).

Anyone has managed to find a solution? What is the best way to transfer a drawing into .ai in your opinion?
