AutoCad/ArchiCad data conversion issue

Anonymous
Not applicable
We are having an issue with transferring full drawings back and forth from ArchiCad to AutoCad. I am going to just list some of the problems below and hope that someone can help us out. All of the issue occur when we send a file from AC to AutoCad

- Dimension strings change-text is dropped into string

- Color of layer all = white. Color of lines shows properly on screen, but when looked at in layers they are white without a lineweight. (disassociate layer/color)

- Hatches are inaccessible in AutoCad-need to erase and redo

Thanks in advance for you help!! If anyone knows of a book or site that maps out all of these issues and their corresponding resolutions please let us know!

There is a book - ArchiCAD for AutoCAD users - but it does not explain all that is needed in this case.

Layers: you need a blank DWG, where the layer pen colors/weights are set, as is everything else (styles etc) and use it as a template in your Translator. This is essential. If you don't have AutoCAD, save a blank DWG from your ArchiCAD template, go to somebody's office, edit it in AutoCAD until all is set as you wish.

Dimensions and fills: what are your Translator options?
