BIMcloud as a service - certificate not trusted, refuses to connect (over https) - SOLVED

Hi all,

suddenly, one of our macs refuses to connect to our BIMcloud, hosted on bimcloud.com as a service. The mac runs catalina. There have been no problems up until now.

The error msg is in Finnish, but translates something as follows: The server is accessible, but it uses an invalid certificate whose identity cannot be trusted.
Result: X509_V_ERR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT_IN_CHAIN: 19.
HTTP proxy: localhost:8080

The other mac, running high sierra, connects without problems.

If there's no other immediate solution, does anybody know of a way to add the certificate from bimcloud.com as trusted? I can't see any relevant certificate whatsoever in the keychain app (mac.)

I found the culprit. For some strange reason, the connection was being routed through a local https proxy (hinted at by the :8080 in the error msg)

I have no idea why this happened all of a sudden, but disabling the proxies for http and https solved the problem.
