Calculating with properties

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hey guys!

I hope this is the right section of the forum. I have a question about the properties of objects. Is there a way to calculate with the properties? I know it from other software that they can be used for calculation e.g. in special lists.

Imagine a wall with 10 sqm and a cost value of 80 $/sqm. Is there a way to define/calculate the absolute value = 800 $. It would be perfect to do it in the list where I can also see all my objects.

thank you in advance!

Best Robert

I've moved your post to the Schedules forum where it belongs...

The ability to do simple math, as in your example, has been wished-for for a long time. Here are two wishlist threads in which you can vote and/or comment:

ArchiCAD has had - since version 6 or earlier - the ability to do calculations based upon element parameters (so-called Calculate Menu which used Property Objects, something totally different than Properties - just to confuse everyone) ... but that capability has not been kept up to date with new features and should not be relied upon for the future.

In schedule of slab cant we get the volume of concrete and number of rods provided and all. As like we get the details in normal (manual) estimation.
And how to get the schedule details like how much sand, cement is used and all?
How to get all these details in schedule list?

If you tried to emulate the power of properties based list bild of materials with schedules, in anything similar to his actual form, you have a VERY LONG route to pass.

I know is freezed years ago, but, at least, hope you donˋt drop actual properties system and let us to make our work in the old and ugly but logic and usefull way.
