Since two weeks we are not able to see other user on the project. Anyone have a idea about the problems.

Thanx

We are experiencing the same problem in Archicad 18 teamwork on a Mac platform.

We contacted Graphisoft technical support and they had several suggestions that have not worked.

According to them it has something to do with the server not resolving its own DNS name. According to Support this will be addressed in the first Hot Fix.

They have not responded to our last request for further direction.

We hope to get a feedback very fast from graphisoft because went you don't see each other and you want to reserve a element just forget it. We have 5 mac stations (or user) so imagine that we have to go solo on every team projet. we feel like having archicad 9. It is a very urgent problems

Marverick for every station

I asked the guys at GS HQ about this and I was told the Tech Support guys are investigating the issue.

But: FYI FWIW: Tomorrow is a National Holiday in Hungary.

We also sent log files to Graphisoft about three weeks ago and so far no response. Disconcerting.

All,

we identified a possible source of this problem. On many Macs the hostname of the Mac cannot be resolved, as a result the two services belonging to our BIM Server cannot find each other.
We found a way how we can handle such situation much better, this will be released with the first update for ArchiCAD 18 coming early Fall.

Until the update arrives the following workaround can help:
- open terminal on the computer where the BIM Server runs
- type: sudo pico /etc/hostconfig
- you will be prompted to enter your password, make sure you are signed in with and administrator account
- in this text file the hostname of the computer can be defined
- add a new line: HOSTNAME=computername
- there replace the computername with the hostname of the computer (as on the screesnshot, where the name of my Mac is: kiss-m-osx)
- press ctrl O to save the file
- press ctrl X to exit the editor
- restart the computer

You can check the name of the computer in System Preferences/Sharing Preference Pane.

I hope this helps,
Marton

We had same problem and received the advice below which fixed it.

The Mailboxes.db is damaged. You have to delete it:
- Go to the server manager
- Stop the server
- Go to Program Files/Graphisoft/BIM Server/BIMcloud server 18/Mailboxes folder, and delete the Mailboxes.db file
- Go back to the server manager
- Start the Server

This should fix the communication issues.
