DWG export hangs AC14

"Of course I can give you DWG" - I say happily to my consultants!
It will be over in a jiffy!.

2 hours and 2 freezes later and I am yet to get a result.

Publisher says it is saving....

but never finishes. Any subsequent clicking causes windows to report program not responding.
I have no idea where to start with fixing this... all thoughts appreciated.

I have had the same problem.
Tracked the problem down to a font used in (many) sections (section markers) .
AC 14 has problems with some fonts (bug).

Try exporting only visible layers.
Turn off (and on) groups of layers to find which layer the problematic entities is placed on

Not enough information.

If you publish each drawing one at a time is it all the drawings or just one?

Do you get any errors when looking at the model in 3D ?

Can you publish to other formats?

Thankyou for your thoughts, it does indeed seem to be font related.

I have used Kabel font for the last 3 years and this appears to be causing AC14 pain during .dwg output.

It does not seem sufficient to remove all of the offending text from the story being exported, I have changed everything visible in the window to Arial but export still hangs.

I then uninstalled the Kabel font from Windows and AC 14 exported correctly.

I have since saved back to AC 13 and successfully exported from there.
(Kabel fonts are not exported but are substituted and the export proceeds)

I did not try other formats as the font seemed to be the issue. If I have time later I will try some other options.

Thank you both again for your time in helping to short circuit this problem for me.

Cheers, Hugh.

I just had the same problem and had to revert to AC13 to save in dwg.

I hope graphisoft will fix this problem soon because version 14 is useless if you can't save files in dwg!! whether it's a font or whatever it worked in 13 and no longer works in 14.

Have either of you reported this to GS?

There is a mention of a font bug or issue somewhere on the wiki I think?

I found this once I knew what info I was looking for... I assume then that someone in Graphisoft World has it on a list of things to do....

I have not actually reported a bug.

You shouldn't assume that they know about it. If they do it won't hurt to remind them and if they don't it won't get fixed.

You should be able to report it quickly by just launching the Bug Reporter app (the one that comes up when AC crashes) and fill in the details. You can find it in the ArchiCAD program folder.
