Volo viewer is no longer available. Any other ideas for DWG viewer on a PC (virtual PC)? Mainly to view product literature. Thanks
Cheers John

Many free options; some not so.

Autodesk has free DWF-viewers and they also have a DWG-viewer, but I can't seem to find out if it is free.

There are many other programs if you're on a PC. On a MAC is more of a problem, though.

hi, found 1 at download.com and is free ware. I has yet to try it out so not sure how user friendly, give it a try.

Search on Free DWG Viewer, should be able to lead you there.
FYI, just came across this Mac-compatible eDrawings viewer. In my brief, very superficial evaluation it seems to work.

I fond this statement on MacWindows: http://www.macwindows.com/

"Autodesk Inc., has released Autodesk DWF Toolkit, a software development kit that enables developers to create applications that read, write, view, print and query DWF files. For the first time, this version supports multiple operating including the Mac OS X and Linux."

The future looks brighter.

Tried this viewer, less than happy with results. text that had width factor other than 1 defaulted to normal width. i.e. notes column spread over edges of drawing sheet, among other things.

Does anyone have an update on this situation? I have a consultant working on AutoCAD 2006 and only have 2002 version myself. He is having trouble with his system so I can't get him to save down to older version or create PDF's.

I have found eDrawings to work well with DWG files. It will show model space and paper space sheets and is pretty quick. I would recommend it if what you are wanting to do is not too complicated. And it is free.

There is a free DWG viewer from Autodesk, called DWG TrueView 2007. No redlining etc like in the deceased VoloView, but great for viewing and printing.

Also, if you need conversion from the 2007 format (as we do) there is a DWG TrueConvert - also free.

Just go to Autodesk web site and download.
