Export to DWG inconsistant

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to satisfy a AutoCad office I do a lot of documentation for due to some simple problems converting to DWG's.

When I do bathroom and Kitchen layout, I place the tile pattern down then add the various elements over the tiles, thus hidding the tile layout. A simple ArchiCad method. I have found that if I assign the right pens etc to the objects (R8.1+ only), if I save as a dwg then a similar output is achieved. If, however, I save from plotmaker (my preferred method of printing) I totally lose any of this hidden fill ability available in the ArchiCad export.
I really don't want to print/export directly from ArchiCad and I don't want to have to trace around my toilets
Anyone got any ideas/suggestions........?
Does R9 fix it? I've been told it's the same translator and will act the same.

wokka-

have you checked the display settings in PM to make sure you're not seeing all fills as transparent?

Weston,
thanks for the idea but unfortunatly it didn't help, I'd already had it defaulted to 'Use fill's background colour'...but it was worth a try

Any other idea's. Anyone...........anyone?

what if you use the 'wipe-out' pen (-1) for all of your background fills? it comes with its own problems, but might work in this case?

~/archiben,
Thanks for the idea. That's what I use in the ArchiCad export and it works fine but as soon as I save out of plotmaker it no longer works.
If anyone has a few minutes, could they test it on R9?

hmm - i found this elsewhere: "Fills with curved edges can not be translated into Wipeout since it can be only rectangular or polygonal." it also sounds as though this is an autodesk limitation. but:

it doesn't explain why you're getting what you expect out of archiCAD, but not from plotmaker . . . are you sure you're using fill pen -1 (the one that looks like a small TV) as your background fill pen?

[and what happens if you go the other route? i.e. use background fill pen 91 (white) and go the traditional route?

Ben,
Attached a few examples to look at.

This doesn't work out of ArchiCad or Plotmaker.
thanks for you interest!

And the equivilant Plotmaker/Publisher images.
Please also not that I have re-assigned pen 91 (white) to pen 255 (Autocad white).
